A Nasty Winter, A Worn Out Mom, a Bottle of Clarins, and This Site Was Born

Welcome!!!
Some of you I have talked to, and some of you have not. So I thought that before I swung into taking pictures of some MAC pigment swatches that I would hit pause and tell you all a little about me.
My name is Selena, aka Clarity. Why the Clarity, you ask? Long story, but it’s from a time in my life that I was totally seeking clarity. That time includes this time. 
Dialing back to January 2008, I was totally down. I *hate* to be cold with a passion, and it is cold in southern Indiana in January. Plus I had just come back from 10 days in the Bahamas, and I already needed another vacation. Not that I didn’t enjoy my time there, but I had my children with me. (2 boys, now 22 and 13) I had rented a beachfront house near Congo Town on South Andros, and that is where we spent our time, with the exception of a couple of nights in Nassau at the end of the trip. The house had no tv, and we rode bikes what seemed like miles to the local grocery store to stock the cupboards. We had the beach entirely to ourselves.

I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything but if any of you are mothers, you know that I spent a good deal of time caring for others.
So when it was over with, I was back in Indiana.
Cold
Grumpy because I wanted another vacation, only this one all to myself
and none too pleased to see that the economy seemed to want to crash and take me with it.
One day not too long after, I was feeling sorry for myself, and decided that I needed a treat. To me, there is just something about the…promise…of new beauty products. I can’t exactly put it into words, but I thought that a little something for me might help pull me out of the blues. I adore the scent and feel of Clarins skin care line, so off I clicked to the site, and ordered a bottle of something…I don’t recall what.
Anyhow, once it arrived, I got mulling over the concept of women, self care, nurturing, and all that. As often happens in my life, my mind took hold of that “ooooo, shiny” moment. But unlike other times, my mind didn’t let go. And in order to give myself room for a little more creativity, AlluringGirl.com came to be. I enjoy running it, and have made friends with some of my customers. But it still wasn’t exactly filling the need that I had started out with.
And that, ladies and gents, is how this blog came to be. It’s going to be a mish-mash of thing, and that is indeed a true representation of me. There will be some things from my site, but there will be beauty related posts about other sites, products, launches, etc. We’ll also do a bit of exploration towards taking care of ourselves, both internally and externally.
I’ve met some great women online during the course of the last couple of years, and I hope to make friends with more of you. So if you have anything you’d like to discuss, learn about, etc, be sure to leave me a comment and let me know.
