About/Disclosure
My real name is Selena, though you may also know me as Clarity. That name came about when I was at a point in my life where I was seeking it…clarity, that is.
I used it a few places online, it seemed to fit, and I’ve used it ever since. I’ve contemplated a legal change of name, but haven’t committed to that yet.
I’m a single parent of two boys. One is in his early 20′s and married, the other is a teenager. I am married to my work, and this blog was born in connection with the internet business that I run. You can read more about that here if you like.
I am a one woman show, and do everything connected to my online presence. Actually, that is not entirely valid. I have a wonderful go-to guy that I found online who deals with php that is over my head, and that is most of it! I know just enough to be dangerous.
Staying focused is a challenge for me when there is so much to be done.
As of today’s writing, I have not undertaken the expense of having an attorney draft a Disclosure policy for this site. So in non-legalese, it is as follows:
(1) I am not an expert in skin care, beauty, cosmetics, or any related field, nor am I a makeup artist. When reviewing, I detail my experiences with a product. Your own experiences may vary greatly. Please keep my non-expert status in mind and seek additional information when necessary.
(2) I own the content that is published on this blog. I either own the images, or use them with permission. Trademarks and logos that are used are owned by the companies that they represent. Content cannot be copied or duplicated in any manner unless I give you written permission to do so. If you would like permission to use parts of my content, then please contact me. You may link to the blog. If you do so, I’d really appreciate the blog’s name being used.
(3) I make no promises, warranties, or guarantees of any type. This is a blog on the internet, nothing more.
(1) Privacy. Keeping your shared information private is of utmost concern to me. No information given on any site I operate, including this blog, will ever be used for purposes other than originally agreed upon. For example, if you have signed up for email announcements to receive blog updates, your email will not be used for any other reason. I do not sell that information to any entity or person for any reason. The only way that information would be released is by Court order.
I use various tools to collect anonymous information from you. Examples of things that may be collected are search terms you used to find the blog, which pages you viewed, how long you viewed them, etc. You cannot be identified by the collection of such information. The blog is supported by ad revenue, and the companies sponsoring those ads may also collect information from your visit.
This blog uses cookies to store your information such as login info when you visit. You can disable this storage of information, and collection of information by third party companies at any time by turning off cookies in your browser.
Contests and Minors. By providing me with information to ship contest winnings to you, you state that you are of legal age to give me such information. If you are under 18, your parent must contact me with their consent prior to shipment of prizes.
2. Affiliate Links. The blog is supported by ad revenue, and many links contain advertiser’s referral information.
3. Reviews. Reviews are written solely on the basis of my experience with the product. I do not write reviews for money, nor is a positive review guaranteed.
4. Comments. Comments are enabled to foster discussion. However, they are posted at my discretion. Comments are moderated prior to going live on the site to ensure that they follow the rules stated in this section. Comments may not contain links to other sites. Personal attacks are not allowed. Comments made with the sole intent to troll, or incite controversy are not allowed. No personal information shall be referenced in comments. Comments that do not follow the policy are subject to deletion and/or modification. While I don’t like to delete any comments, if I have to, I will. Just use common sense and common courtesy.
5. Fun. That’s why I’m here. I want to try new things and share information with you about them.
Q: What does an affiliate link mean?
A: I am an affiliate of several companies. I will use Sephora as an example. If I am writing about a product that I have gotten from Sephora, when I link to that product, the link will contain a code that is unique to me. If someone clicks that link, then makes a purchase at Sephora, then I receive a small referrer fee as compensation. A fair non-technical comparison would be that it is the same thing as receiving a commission or a finder’s fee.
